Eid Al Fitr holiday announced
Private sector’s Eid holiday will be on Shawwal 1 and 2
Abu Dhabi: The Eid Al Fitr holidays for federal ministries and authorities will begin from Thursday, July 16 (Ramadan 29), and end on Shawwal 3. Official duty will resume on Shawwal 4. The private sector’s Eid holiday will be on Shawwal 1 and 2.
Shawwal 1 will fall on Friday, July 17, if Ramadan is 29 days, depending on the sighting of the moon.
On this occasion, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and Ministry of Labour conveyed their greetings to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
The authority also offered greetings to the people of the UAE and Arab and Muslim nations around the world.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Crescent Observation Project (ICOP) has said that based on astronomical calculations, Eid Al Fitr of Hijri year 1436 will be on Friday, July 17, in most Muslim countries, considering that the sighting of the moon is a condition for the beginning of the month of Shawwal.
Mohammad Shoukat Awdah, head of ICOP, said that most Islamic countries will sight the new moon of Shawwal on Thursday, July 16
